The US Navy maintains several deep water buoys in 2-4 thousand feet of water. These buoys attract large volumes of bait fish, which of course attract the BIG fish. The topography of the almost vertical drop to the 6000 bottom, known as The Wall, provided shelter to abundant bottom fish.
